Sharing and Securtiy issue in 2003 and 2008 server
Hi All,
I am using windows 2003 and 2008 server, I have done the sharing and provided the required access(Full, Contributer. etc) to the users. but after restarting the server the rights has changed to Read Only for all users except Administrator..It happens on
Both the server. I m confused in that.. Is there any Windows patch which removing the rights.. or any other issue any suggestion welcome..

Hi,
Please confirm whether both the share and NTFS permissions have been changed. How did you share the folder, if via “Share with”, please try Advanced Sharing
option. First, please check whether the following link helps:

You can also check whether the issue occurs in Clean Boot mode:
1. Click "Start", click “Run” and type "msconfig" to start the System Configuration Utility.
2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click Disable All (if it is not gray).
3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
4. Restart your computer. If the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the box and click "OK".
5. Check the permissions again.
