Hello, I have problem with sharing folders on our DC, when i acceess share like \\dc.domain.com\share, the share is alright. But when i open \\domain.com, there is share with same name and when open it, it's emtpy. Thanks for help

I have problem with sharing folders on our DC, when i acceess share like \\dc.domain.com\share, the share is alright. But when i open \\domain.com, there is share with same name and when open it, it's emtpy. Maybe, \\domain.com is DFS-share?

Hello, this is the normal behavior unless you use a domain-based dfs namespace: The shares show up, but when you open them you can't see their content. Only sysvol and netlogon can be accessed with their contents via the domain name, they are replicated on all domain controllers within the domain. A share you create on dc.domain.com is local to dc.domain.com, so you can't access it with the domain name.
