Shadow Copy Previous Version shows current data
My server is a Windows 2008 Standard 64 SP2 and I have setup shadow copy on a mount point. When I right click on my volume and select configure shadow copies, I can see my volume I want to select, I can see all the dates of previously run copies. If I right click on storage area specified I can see that it equals the maximum disk I defined. I have previous versions that dates back to May 2011 but when I select a previous version and copy the contents to a restore folder I get the exact data that is in the current location including files I created yesterday. No matter how far I go back the data display on the restore is current data. If I remove a file is removes it from all previous versions under my shadow copy. Obviously this is not working correctly can someone help me? What else is need to view and restore the previous version of a document?

Hi, Do you have any VSS error in System event log? Is the file being worked on constantly? You might want to refer to this article on restoring previous copies http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd637757.aspxRemember to Vote as helpful for others and accept the the proposed Answer if it is relevant to build KB in this Forum. Hi Thanks for you response, there are no error messages in the system event log for VSS. I looked at the article you provided. The shadow copy I am trying to setup is on a mount point. It is keeping the changes but I still can't restore them.
