Hi Veasna,

I assume these error messages are collected after installing all these hotfixes.

Please test following steps and see if issue still exists:

In "Start search here" or in "run" type without the qoutes "dcomcnfg" and press ENTER.
You should see the COM+ MMC after a while. Navigate to "Component Services > Computer > My computer". Right click my computer and select properties.
In the tab "Deafult Properties" make sure that "Default authentication level" is at least set to "Connect" and "Default impersonation level" is set to at least "Identify".
Under "COM Security" tab in "Local Launch and Activation Permissions" on you may edit the Default and Limits to allow NETWORK SERVICE and LOCAL SERVICE to allow "Local Activation" as the error messages indicates it do not have today.

Recommend that you restart the server after modifying the access. Also please disable Windows Firewall to see if it affects.

Note: In Event 11 it mentioned that "Most likely the CPU is under heavy load", please make sure the computer is not in a heavy load.

In addition, if issue still exists, please again collect event log and share with us. Also please run a "vssadmin list writers" in CMD and provide us the result as well.

Dear Shaon Shan,

I am sorry for late to reply you.

Last week before i got your respond,

I checked on server i saw  "VSS" in "Services.msc" stop working! I tried to "Restart" it but still not help because it was gray not allow me to select restart.

I decided to Restart the Server after that, "VSS" in "Services.msc" was automatic restart with "manual".

So I went to "HDD" and Right Click==> Click on "Shadow Copies" Tab, it took around 1 minute to bring me to "Shadow Copy" property screen and I clicked on "Create Now" button, it took around one minute to created new snapshot.. some time it not allow me to create new snapshot show me the message

"Other process already running etc.."

Even it has some problem that slow every time i access to "Shadow Copies" but It was still "Capture the snapshot" as the scheduled!

After that start from 7/20/2015 to 7/21/2015 , I could get into "Shadow Copy" so easy and very quick.. and i hope that it will work properly.

Sadly today, 7/22/2015 even i could get into "Shadow Copy" tab so easier and quick and scheduled still there but on "Previous Version" tab, i didn't see the snapshot working for today and every clients machine.

And When i test to hit "Create Now" Botton, I got the error

I checked "VSS" in "Services.msc" i saw it runing as well with "Manual"

-When i check "Even Viewer" i saw 5 errors today with same Even ID 7001:

VssAdmin: Unable to create a shadow copy: Another shadow-copy creation is in progress, so the current shadow copy cannot be created.  There are a number of common scenarios causing this problem:          * If Shadow Copies of Shared Folders is set up, ensure that no two volumes have schedules that lie within five minutes             of each other.           * If automatic backup of any form is scheduled, ensure that the backup schedule does not overlap with the schedule            used for Shadow Copies of Shared Folders.    Generally, retrying the operation after a few minutes or changing the schedule of an automatic task should fix this problem.
Command-line: 'C:\Windows\system32\vssadmin.exe Create Shadow /AutoRetry=15 /For=\\?\Volume{5ec56f9a-a08b-4c91-90d6-adf022cf3a91}\'.

And I saw Yesterday with two difference errors with EVEN ID 12293 and Even ID 8193

Could you help me to fix this problem permanently?

Here is some CPU and RAM processing screen shot :

PS: Before on 3/3/2015 every time when if i could not get into "Shadow Copy" to see something mean it could not take "Snapshot"

but if i could get into "Shadow Copy" it will automatic capture snapshot as scheduled.

Base i described above:

What should i do? or can i still use the steps that you advise me?

I am sorry for my poor English.

Hi,

From the error message, it seems to be a conflict issue when creating VSS snapshot.

Is there any backup scheduled, or any VSS related task scheduled in the same time when you are trying to create a snapshot?

A quick test is to disable all other VSS related tasks to see if you can manually create a snapshot.

In the same time please check if the volume you stored VSS shadow copies are large enough for creating more snapshots. It could also be caused by no enough free space, or no enough shadow storage space (you can set in GUI).

Hello Sir,

I found the problem with a process name "VssCreator.exe"

I notice that, If this process takes around 300 mb or 400MB, "Previous Version" is working or i can right click and get into "Shadow Copy" as normally.

But If that process takes or sometime it takes 7GIG of System Memory, I can't get into "Shadow Copy" or i can get into "Shadow Copy" but it is so slow or hang up and bring "Shadow Copy" property to get not respond!

When i killed this process, after that I can get into "Shadow Copy" or "Previous version" will continuous to appear on client's machines

This process is working for "Backup Agent" that work to back up files to Cloud..

Let me ask you some Questions:

Is this problem because of not enough memory or VSS can't run twice in same time?

Please give me any suggestions,

I hope that i learn a lot from your best experience.

P.S: Our Physical server has 20 Gig of RAM and 4 Gig of RAM assigned to one VM and Remaining are for Physical that working for File

Hi,

Before I saw your screenshot, I assume the memory is totally used , which will of course affect backup (and any process).

But in this case it is caused by 2 vss processes. It's like a file is called by 2 applications at a same time. The second application (Shadow Copy) failed as the file (VSS) is in using.

Dear Moderator,

Thanks again for your time to assist me!

Base on your explanation, and your ideas,

1-What should i do to avoid of this problem? Backup agent and Shadow Copy, that they are the same use only one process called (VSS)...

2-If there any help to fix this if we upgrade RAM?

Best regards,

Hi,

Backup agent will use VSS so it will cause conflict. What we can do is to set different schedule to avoid the conflict.

More RAM will help on system performance when RAM is the bottleneck. To decide you can monitor your memory for a while to see if there is any chance that the usage is show 100%.
