Services stopped automatically
Dear all, I have a great problem where I always find some automatic services as SQL Server services on Windows Server 2003 and 2008 are stopped where they are set to automatic running. I want to use the recovery option to solve it, what is the recommneded values for Reset Fail count After Restart Service after OR is there another way to solve this issue??

if your sql service stops, take a look at your ERRORLOG. in your sql directory. together with the eventlog, it should tell you how often and possibly why your sql services stop. you can use the values you find out there to determine what you want to use for restart service after, but ideally youd rather dientify whats causing the stops

Hi, Please make sure that depended services are started. In addition, please test the issue in Clean Boot to determine if there is any third party software conflicts. For the detailed steps, please refer to the following Microsoft KB articles: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 If only the SQL Server related services fail to start, please submit a new question to SQL Server forum which is the best resource for further assistance.
