Service failure

Hello,

How to get an alert *email, page,...) for a service which stopped or failed to start?

Any builtin alerts on this matter?
Should I create a new rule on event ID 7021, 7024, 7031, 7032, 7034 etc...?

Thanks,

For Monitor Service, you can check below link

No, you didn't need to create monitor for event if you already monitor services.

1)for a service which stopped or failed to start
using Windows Service Template to create service monitor
http://www.bictt.com/blogs/bictt.php/2011/03/17/scom-monitoring-a-service-part3
2) Should I create a new rule on event ID 7021, 7024, 7031, 7032, 7034 etc...?
If you using Windows Service Template to monitor windows service, you need not to create any addition rule/ monitor to monitor the event id 7021, 7024, 7031, 7032, 7034 etc... which are all related whether windows service is running or not.

Quick questions:

is it one Monitor for each service ? or One Monitor could cover several services?

If I am using Part3(Windows Service Templates) should I remove Part2 (Basic Service Monitor)?
