Service Manager 2012 R2 Setup fails at SQL Server Reporting Services Setup

Hi,

I've got a Problem setting up a fresh private cloud Environment, specifically Service Manager Setup is failing on me.

I've got SQL Server 2012 with SP1 remote databases and Reporting Services 2012 with SP1. I've followed install instructions with Service Manager and even http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/hh545473.aspx is applied but still I only end up with an error about Action:_AssignSdkAccountAsSsrsPublisher. I know there's a similar thread around but it's about SQL Server 2008.

Error is this exactly:

Can provide Error logs but have to remove personal Information from the Setup log

Hi,

For a fresh installation of you may have to refer to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh519664.aspx for manual configuration of remote SSRS. There is one more step (add a code segment to the rssrvpolicy.config) to complete compared to the Technet doc you used (upgrade guide).

According to the logs it may also be possible that there is a problem with the reporting account specified in the installation wizard. I assume 'VORDEFINIERT\VORDEFINIERT' is your anonymized reporting account right?

AssignSsrsRole Error: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException : System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Der Benutzer- oder Gruppenname 'VORDEFINIERT\VORDEFINIERT' wurde nicht erkannt. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.UnknownUserNameException: Der Benutzer- oder Gruppenname 'VORDEFINIERT\VORDEFINIERT' wurde nicht erkannt.

CustomAction _AssignSdkAccountAsSsrsPublisher returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

Hope this helps!

Did you create a new report server database prior to running setup? It shouldn't be necessary to manually authorize the Reporting Services Account within SQL Server. Did you add the code segment to the rssrvpolicy.config as stated in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh519664.aspx?

When you are talking about the 'Reporting Services execute as' account, are you referring to the account which is used to read the data warehouse reporting data? The one specified in DWH MS setup?

Yes it was a new database.

What I did now was uninstall Reporting Services, make sure there are no prior Installation files left on the hard drive, and then reinstall it. Configure a new database as Reporting Database to avoid problems with Reporting Services (if you don't you might get an error validating the Reporting URL, best practice here i reckon would be opening the configured URL, if everything works it shows an empty Folder listing initially). After that I did copy the dll and edit both config files as stated in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh519664.aspx and then Setup ran through nicely for Service Manager 2012 R2.

This does not resolve the question where that Predefined\Predefined account thing comes from but if you want to have a look if it still appears let me know where you can find the instal log after the Installation and I'll happily share it with you.

Thanks for your help!
