Service Center/System Center and ITIL & General Usage

Hello,

I have a few questions regarding Service Center and ITIL

  • From what we have seen so far, the Service Manager Console is compliant with ITIL Standard. But is the Self Service Portal of SCSM 2012 R2 compliant with ITIL Standards too?
  • Can we create users which do not belong to the domain (from the Console or the Portal)? This is needed for the clients. They will access the portal through the internet and they are not in the same domain as ours.
  • Can the Self Service Portal be configured for more than 1 SLA contract/project? Can we give permissions to users to access only the project to which they are related?

Thank you,

Roland

As far as I know there is no ITIL standard related to any "Self-Service Portal".

The user needs to login to the self-service portal. There is no option to use the Self-Service Portal without login or anonymous. This can be done by a user in the same domain as the SCSM or with an user that is from a trusted domain.

You can provide access to different Service Offerings and/or Request Offerings by implementing user roles.
