Server w2k8 is very slow
Hello
Currently I have a Windows Server 2008 x86, which is virtuaizado in VMware.
On this server, I have a SQL 2008 database.
This server is currently processing in which reaches 100%, becoming very slow servers.
I reviewed the events of the server and no errors or warnings are detected to
give some sort of signal about the slowness.
Is also updated with all available security patches.
This server is in evidence, to put it in production environment very soon.
Any advice you can follow?
ThanksJorge Muoz Colombia

with becoming slow, do you mean the virtual machine has a slow ui when you log on to it or is the sql performance decreasing?
if you reach 100% cpu usage in the vm which is actually used by eg sql server, there is little you can do other then increase the number of cores for the vm or optimize statements (you can check if theres querys taking exceptionally long with profiler).
if the logged on session is kinda slow reacting with a sql server on the vm, it could as well be the sql server took all ram. in that case you can limit the amount of ram sql server is allowed to grab, so some is left for other processes/your admin session.
