Server problem / DHCP problem
Got a question that is very baffling....I have a Windows 2003 server 64 bit enterprise edition system with 4 GB RAM operating on a Dell 1900 series server. I have to reboot the system daily or else everyone in the office will get the "blue screen" with no icons upon signing onto the network. I have also noticed that when logging onto the system, the server is very slow at times in bringing up the administrator profile. Once I restart the server, everything acts normally and all is well. We are using DHCP for the vast majority of systems. Have tried looking in the event viewer but cannot find anything of suspect or any abnormalities at all. It is getting to be a real Pain to do this and my users are starting to be tired as well. Any suggestions, etc.

That sounds more like a DNS config problem to me.Is this a DC? Do the clients point to this server only for DNS? What DNS settings does the server have?Slow bootup on a DC often means the server is trying to contact another DNS server which is not available.Bill
