Server Rebuild
I am planning a rebuild of a terminal server (2003) I was wondering if anyone has used a tool that could extract all the pertinent information from the old system so I know what needs to re-installed/re-configured. I have been collecting the information using a bunch of differnt tools and manual entry. This process is both tedious and possibly inaccurate in my opinion. Any help would be appreciatead.Al

Hi AL,I would suggest you run a MPS report of old system to retrieve the critical configration and setting. How to collect an MPS report: a) Download the proper MPS Report tool from the website below. Microsoft Product Support Reportshttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=CEBF3C7C-7CA5-408F-88B7-F9C79B7306C0&displaylang=en b) Double-click to run it. If the requirement is not met, please follow the wizard to download and install them. After that, click Next, when the "Select the diagnostics you want to run" page appears, select General; Internet and Networking; Business Network; Server Components; click Next. c) After collecting all log files, choose "Save the results". Choose a folder to save the <Computername> MPSReports.cab file. Regards,Wilson Jia This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
