Server Config. ?
I am completely new to the server side of things & have a test configuration question. I am looking to setup a test machine at home that I would like to have Exchange, Share Point and the ability to host my own website as well as others. I have installed SBS 2008 but then replaced it with Server 2008r2. I am wondering if running r2 with Web Server & SBS running as virtual servers in Server 2008 would be the best scenario. I like SBS features (Exchange & SharePoint & my website in there but want to put the other sites in a different OS. Is this a possible scenario? If not any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, any suggestions on tutorials for 1st timers, for setting these up?

Hello daviddanson, Generally speaking, for test purpose, we can deploy Exchange Server with SharePoint service and other web service on a same server with SBS 2008 R2. However, for production environment, we don't recommend that you install Exchange server and SharePoint server on the same computer. That will affect their performances and they will not work. Although, the following article is specific to SharePoint 2001 and Exchange server 2000. It is also suitable to Exchange server 2007 and SharePoint 2007.
