Server Certificate Templates are all doubled.
I installed and configured a CA on my server 2008 Ent. System. When I go into templates to duplicate for use in my CA I notice that all the templates in Certificate Templates are doubled. It doesn't affect anything because I am able to create duplicate
templates and the CA is working just fine but was just curious as to why that is and if there is a way to remove WITHOUT causing an issue.

Using the certificate template management console, if you have the option for deleting the template when you right click it then it is a custom template and can be removed.
The built in templates will not be possible to delete using the certificate template console but you can delete any template if you use ADSI edit.
If you delete a template that is publish/referenced on any CA then the CA and clients will no longer be able to use it to issue/request new certificates based on that template.

The ones that are doubled are the templates that you'd use to create your duplicated from. I have created duplicate templates from some of them. To be honest, because they are all doubled I don't remember which of the 2 I used. I'm thinking that I will
just leave it alone for now. They aren't causing any issues with the functionality of the CA I just never seen this happen before. Thanks for the help it was much appreciated.
