Server 2012 not recognizing Media Changer

Setup:

Server 2012 connected by Fiber to Dell PVTL4000 with 4 Tape drives and a 48 tape library.  Documentation appears to indicate that the library will present itself as a Tape drive on LUN 0 and a Media Changer on LUN 1, but the Media Changer is never recognized by Windows - only the single Tape drive on LUN 0 is recognized.  This article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/824494

Appears to recommend using a scsiport driver, but it's for Server 2003 and I don't see anything similar listed on Qlogic/Dell/IBM's site for scsiport, especially with Fiber.  I'm ready to pull whatever hair I have left out.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ken,

As Dave mentioned, the device is compatible with Server 2003 and seems to be too old for Server 2012.

Open Device Manager, check if the Media Charger is an unknow device.

If yes, we could ask DELL technical support for the corresponding driver.

Best Regards,

Leo

I've seen similar questions in the past and the answer was that media changers are supported through System Center Data Protection Manager, not from the OS level.
