I am getting the "Role and feature refresh failed with the following error: The request to list features available on the specified server failed.  The operation cannot be completed, because the server that you specified requires a restart".

Needless to say the server has been reboot, does not fix the problem.

found article stating to look thru cbs.log did not find anything that stood out.

found article stating I should run:  DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Ran this and rebooted did not fix the issue. I looked thru the dism.log that is created did not see anything that stood out.

I check the event viewer and don't find any errors.

Bottom line is I cannot add or remove any roles from the server.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

May need to perform a repair install. This one is for 2008 but steps are the same.
