Is there any way to change something on the server to get the logon prompt back. I have access to the file system and part of the registry.

Hi, I would like to confirm that can you log into the system in Safe Mode? If so, please run System File Checker to scan and repair the system files. For the detailed steps, please refer to the following Microsoft KB article: How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 If the issue persists, you may also perform a Clean Boot in Safe Mode to narrow down the possible third party software conflicts. Please also read the following Microsoft KB article for how to perform a Clean Boot: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 What’s the result in Clean Boot? Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
