Server 2008 and folder redirects across partitions on the same server
We were recently provided with a Server 2008 machine with three partitions, one for the OS, one for the software, and one for storage. Due to unexpected growth our software partition (D) is running out of space rapidly. In Server 2003 we were able to create re-directed folders that appeared to the software packages to be running on the D drive partition but were actually located on the E drive partition. And it appears this feature is no longer available in Server 2008. Has anyone found a work around for this issue besides burning down the server, repartitioning the drives, and starting over? thanks - Sam

In disk management, right click the target drive and select drive letters and mount points. Configure a folder mount point appropriately for your application.Regards, Bill
