Server 2008 Windows Security Logon Prompt
Hello,
I do not know if I am correctly identifying this prompt, but whenever I am using Dell Open Manage 6.3 and I attempt to make changes to settings, I get a login box titled Windows Security...figured simple enough, just use my logon credential...however it
just keeps asking me a few time(with no errors about wrong userids or password) and then the app does nothing....I put the address of Dell OpenManage in my trusted intranet and it seems to gut back on some of the prompts, but I can not fully get rid of this
annoyance
Any insights
Thank you
Mark

The prompt you are seeing is probably because of UAC, you can disable UAC but it is not recommendedWith kind regards

hi,
As a test you could disable UAC , but i wouldnt recommend to do so, rather you could run the applicaiton with elevated privilige.
Also you have to read through the Dell openmanage documentation which mentions about the UAC.
For more info regarding the product you could post your query under dell forums

Hello Mark,
Do you have restart the server after adjusting to never notify?
Does this issue exist when you log on as Administrator(built-in)?

thank you for the replies...
I did restart after adjusting the UAC control....i am logged in as the local built-in Admin!
I only have seen this using Dell OM with IE 8...I suspect this is the rrot cause....I was on OM on another 2k8 server and firefox never showed me the prompt....
any ideas about IE settings for this?...still not sure if this logon prompt is 2k8 related or IE related
thanks much

Hello Mark,
I cannot reproduce this issue. As this problem is related to Dell Open Manage, please submit a new thread in DELL forum for better and accurate answer to the question.
