Server 2008 Safe Mode
I configured a VM server to boot into safe mode from msconfig. However, now the server won't even boot into safe mode. A driver is failing to load or something. I just get the "Setup is Prepering for First Use" and that's it. I've boot to a command prompt and ran a repair but that didn't resolve any issue. I installed a second instance of server 2008 as a dual boot, but I'm wondering how I would un-do the msconfig setting for safe mode from the new boot instance. There is no boot.ini file anymore. Anybody have any ideas? Help PeterPeter

I think it will be better to restore the system state from a performed backup. If this server is a DC then use NTDSUTIL and perform a non-authoritative restore. If you have a Windows Setup disc: 1. Boot the virtual machine with the Windows Setup disc and start the Recovery Console. 2. Type BOOTCFG /REBUILD from the Recovery Console. 3. Complete the process to rebuild the BOOT.INI file. 4. Type exit to quit the Recovery Console You can also post of hyper-v forum. Thanks
