Server 2008 R2 update error 80072EE2
Hi there, I've upgraded Server 2008 Ent ed to Datacenter, I managed to activate, and to go on internet but I can't do any updates, both on the host and VM; my FW is off, the host file hasn't been changed. Other PCs can actually access update web site. I usually experience this problem when a VM is not yet activated, but in this case it shows activated. Any idea , please? many thanks Andy

Hi, This issue can be caused by a temporary connection issue. For the troubleshooting suggestions, please refer to the following Microsoft KB article: You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941 If it does not work, we may also try to reset Windows Update components. For the detailed steps, please also refer to the following Microsoft KB article: How do I reset Windows Update components? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 If it still cannot work, please run System Update Readiness Tool as Meinolf Weber suggested. If some files cannot be repaired automatically, you need to manually replace them. For more information, please refer to the following Microsoft articles: Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 Advanced guidelines for diagnosing and fixing servicing corruption http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee619779(WS.10).aspx Regards, Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi guys, thanks a lot. I tried all of the above solutions, the one that actually sorted out my issue is actually :http://blog.ronnypot.nl/?p=310 , infact disabling the Large sending offload setting under network adapter solved my problem. Reason why it was working before and suddenly has stopped working, I guess, it's because I 've changed the adsl provider, and therefore the router: probably different settings in the router. Anyway, this was my case, other people may find a solution from the other links you suggested, I think it's good to have them on the same page. Thanks
