Hi,
For quick and accurate response to the question, it is recommended to ask in SQL Server forum. The support professional
there are more familiar with it and can help you in a more efficient way.

a) no, according to what I have heard, it is not supported
b) I am myself running it under the managed service account :-)
c) but it has some severe pains in it. you cannot use the account during installation or in the SQL configuration utility. You need to change the account manually in the properties of the service in the normal Services console.
this can be also sometimes problem because changing the user account for sqlsrvr service is supported only through the config utility which also changes some other things on 2005 SQL servers.
