Server 2008 R2 Std Domain Controller dns.exe high memory utilization
Here is a article from Ace that points to the issues you are seeing. http://msmvps.com/blogs/acefekay/archive/2009/09/03/the-dns-cache-poisoning-vulnerability-microsoft-kb953230-patch-and-ports-reservation-explained.aspx I would recommended using DNS Forwarders as well if you aren't on all of your DNS servers.

This is our backup DC, and have been in place for over a year, never had any issue until few weeks ago (possibly after some windows update), dns.exe starting using up large amount of RAM, 50-70% of available memory. Our Primary DC is a Windows 2003 server and no issue w/ dns.exe on the 2003. Rebooting the server will reduce the memory utilization for a few days then it's back up again. Wondering if anyone running into similar issue and solution is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Roget Luo
