Server 2008 R2 EISA Partition

At some point soon I will need to extend the partition for the C drive and was thinking about using the EISA partition. I know this partition is sometimes used for recovery but it appears it was never set up because it shows 100% free space. Or is the EISA partition used in some way that it needs all that free space?

Currently the option to extend the C partition is grayed out. If I format the EISA partition will I then be able to extend my C partition?

Hi,

1. The EISA partition is really small (78MB) so it may not help on enlarge your drive C.

2. You will not able to extend drive C even if the EISA partition is deleted. We can only expend to free spaces behind the target partition, that's say if you delete Drive E, you will able to extend drive C.

3. I cannot confirm the exact information stored on this partition. So you may have a try to confirm with manufacturer, or try to assign a drive letter (may not able to) to see the content.
