Server 2008 R2 Datacenter licensing, recover licenses from deleted servers
Hello, if you run VMs on a Datacenter machine you are licensed for unlimited VMs. So this shouldn't become a problem. For deeper licensing questions please contact Microsoft support directly.Best regards Meinolf Weber MVP, MCP, MCTS Microsoft MVP - Directory Services My Blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/ Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

I have a Server 2008 R2 datacenter license for my virtual environment. I created two servers over the weekend that ended up being scrapped and rebuilt. the problem is i activated the software and therefore used one of my MAK keys. How can i recover MAK activations so i don't use up all my potential licenses on servers that end up getting deleted?
