Server 2008 Mapped Network Drives

Hi there,

I am switching from a .bat file to using server 2008 Group Policy for mapped drives, seems simple enough but not working.

I just want 3 mapped drive letters all the time for everyone

Server 2008 R2 (64)

Group Policy Management

Default Domain Policy

Right-Click, Edit

User Configuration

Preferences

Windows Settings

Drive Maps

Right-Click, New Mapped Drive

Action:  Create

Location: C:\Proposal

Drive Letter Use:  P:

Label As: Proposal

Check Reconnect

Hide / Show This:  Show this drive

Hide / Show All: Show all Drives

Apply, Logout and Back in

No P: drive on server or desktops

What amI doing wrong?

Thanks

B.

quick glance seems ok,

do your other gpos get processed ok for the site\domain\ou? are the users in the  OU if linked to an OU? what does GPresult tell you?

Knew I missed something, mapped H: drive a users \profile,

\\Server01\Profiles\%username% sometimes does not map, any ideas?

Thanks

Hi B.

>>\\Server01\Profiles\%username% sometimes does not map, any ideas?

Why did we append %username%? What did we want to achieve here? Removing the %username%, the drive should be able to map successfully.

Best regards,

Frank Shen
