Server 2008 CTP to Full Versions
Hi, How will migrating from the CTP versions of Server 2008 to the full release be? Will it be astraight forward upgrade or will it need to be rebuilt from scratch? Thanks

As far as I know it'll be possible to upgrade in place, except if you have applications not allowing it (Exchange for example). Anyone from MSFT can verify?

be carefull in production environment! - the schema changes. if you apply CTP you will need do addprep for next realease. in some cases it is not recommended. test it well

Hi Just to be clear, deploying beta software in production environments without beeing part of any of the Technology Adoptions programs run with Microsoft is not supported.As far as I know we have not declared that it will be supported to update from beta 3, ctp or any other build to the RTM product as it becomes available. Looking back at previous products released from Microsoft,someproductshavehad supported upgrade paths from pre released builds such as Release Candidates.
