We have just installed all os updates to service pack1. Think it locked up after doing so. How can i log when lock ups occur -- what sort of loggin etc is there, how do i use it , read it. Note that I tink when lock outs occur you can still ping ip address.

Hi, 1. test the issue in Clean Boot to check if there is any software conflicts. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 2. install Process Monitor to monitor the which process is locking down computer. Download Process Monitor. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx 3. contact your server's hardware vendor to do a hardware test to isolate the root cause. A similar issue reference: Server 2008 Enterprise locks up when using remote desktop http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsserver2008r2general/thread/1cb616c4-7d6b-4f95-b237-5bc099a4a0fe Hope this helps.
