Server 2003 shut down unexpectedly
I am running Microsoft Server 2003 SP 2.0. This weekend when I came to the officemy desktop was unable to connect to the server. When I went to check on the server, themachine was running, but I was unable to pull up the log on screen. The only thing thatI was able to seewas a black screen (yes monitor was on and plugged into the box).I then proceeded to do a hard restart and log in as normal. Upon logging in I recieved a dialog box informing me that the "System recovered from a serious error. Futher dialog boxes indicated: Error Report Contents: C:\TEMP\WER6b90.dir00\Mini080809-01.dmp C:\TEMP\WER6b90.dir00\sysdata.xml Error Signature: BCCode: 1000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: F0EAD3EE BCP3: F5146508 BCP4: 00000000 OSVER: 5_2_3790 SP: 2_0 Product: 272-3 Event Log Event ID:1003I have done some research online and have found errors similar to mine, but not exactly the same. I have learned that I may have a problem in my registry, or that I may have a problem with my drivers, or that I may have a problem with my BIOS. Can anyone help me find out exacly what happened to my server, and what I need to do to resolve the issue?

As you have given the inputs stating that when you try to logon you see a black screen. and how offen does it reboot. more over we cant analysis mini dump for that we need a full dump or kernel dump to check and fix the bug.If your problem is with only black screen. Then go head with Registry change for the colours. If its a frequent reboot by itself go head with analysis by configuring to full memory Dump.If its a problem with logon screen as black appearance follow the below steps.
If you cannot find another Windows Server 2003-based computer, please import the following registry key file (color.reg) into the problematic server.
1. Download the color.reg and copy it to the server.

2. Click Start, point to Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
3. On the File menu, click Import.

5. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
Hope this can be helpful.
