Server 2003 SBS issues after crash
Hi, Running Win2003 SBS SP2 which crashed on Saturday (that was my weekend gone !). Basically it wouldn't boot saying the system32 files were missing, boot up in recovery mode to resolve..... So I found the following article which got the server booting up again. http://rules.wordpress.com/2006/12/28/windows-system32-config-system-is-corrupt-in-windows-server-2003/ However, SQL and Exchange are not running. SQL says it is running but no one can connect to the database. Exchange has two services not starting. System Attendant and Information store. When you try to start them, says one of the dependencies isn't running. Looking at the event log, I'm getting Event ID:2114 Topology Discovery failed, error 0x80040931 Also Event ID:1053 Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. I have also noticed that DNS doesn't have any entries in forward or reverse lookup zones. Reporting Event ID: 4013 & 4000 saying the DNS server was unable to open active directory. Cannot run the connect to the internet wizard as it fails on configuring the network. I have check the network adapter settings which look normal including register with DNS etc. So I'm a bit stuck really, hoping I don't have to do a reinstall of everything. Any suggestions would be greatly received. Thanks B
