Server 2003 R2 DNS Resolve
I can not seem to find the right forum and i am in big time need to get this past me because i am on the verge of loosing my mind.First things first; i have not installed the AD yet... Please let me know if i need to do this first.I am tring to resolve domain names.. Here is where i am at:I have a reg domain name by the name of xxxxx.com through godaddy. I have created a new DNS server and in the lookup zone i have created two zones. ONE that is xxxx.com, and TWO one that is xxxx.com. Now for the name servers for both i have them set for super1.xxxx.com and super2.xxxx.comI am not able to get the xxxxx.com to resolve.. Can someone tell me what i need to give to them so that i can resolve a domain name. I can send screen shots and what ever records they need.I am assuming that i need to create a zone for xxxxx.com in order to resolve it. Is this correct???------------------------------here is one of the entries from my logThe zone xxxx.com is configured to accept updates but the A record for the primary server in the zone's SOA record is not available on this DNS server. This may indicate a configuration problem. If the address of the primary server for the zone cannot be resolved DNS clients will be unable to locate a server to accept updates for thiszone. This will cause DNS clients to be unable to perform DNS updates. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

If your issue hasn't been resolved you also might try posting to the Windows Server DNS Newsgroup as this is a forum for Windows Server "Longhorn." http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.server.dns Good luck!
