Server 2003 R2 Crashing ever few hours.
windows server 2003 r2 running as an application server with practice management software.
The server restarts every few hours and displays this error message - 0x00000024 (0x0019033d, 0xb71cd6d8, 0xb71cd3d4, 0xf7b5159d)
I think that error 24 is saying that there is a bad driver, but device manager is showing all devices, even hiden ones, are ok.
Help this server is mission critical and when it restarts it locks all of the practice management database tables that were open when the crash happened. It takes about 2 hours to go through and unlock them in MySQL.
Need help asap!!! Thanks!!!

Try to re-install the drivers for your server. If the problem is persisting, then repair its operation system install.

does the error code point to any particular device. You would think that the error code would give some indication of the device that fails, right??

This machine is SP2 would that make any difference in how the repair was started. Should I add/remove programs then choose remove 'Windows server 2003 Service Pack 2' ... Does this give a repair option?
August 1st, 2010 1:21am
I have no idea. Try to repair it without uninstalling SP2. If you face a problem to repair it, proceed by deleting it and then repair it.

The best bet would be analyzing the crash dump file and solving the case. Here is the doucmentation to generate the memory dump
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/254649
Then analyze it using the debuggin tools

If installing the Dell support pack and the articles did not help then I would start a case with Microsoft product support. Analyzing dump files and BSOD issues is really outside the scope of forums support.

Hi,
If the suggestions provided by Dave do not help, we need to analyze the crash dump file to locate the exact problem of the stop error. Since we cannot help you analyze the dump file in forum, to trouble shoot this problem efficiently, I suggest that
you speak directly with a Microsoft Support Professional so that the crash dump can be analyzed.

thanks for the input!
i have uninstalled McAfee and all other nonessentail programs. Run chkdsk/r an SFC /SCANNOW. Reinstalled the chipset , video, nic, and other hardware related drivers.
The machine has been running since 12:30 this morning without a restart. (Scared to say that because it might crash anytime.)
These have gotten me running so far. We'll see how far!!!
Thanks for everyones input! I have a new box that will be delivered today. Installing server 2008 R2 on it and then the Prac Managment software, then all of the data. Server 2003 just is not reliable any longer. this is the 4th 2003 box that has failed in
the past 2 months??!!
