Server 2003 R2 - How configure e-mail notifications?
Hi,Id like to know how to configure e-mail notifications for when a server in our farm has been shutdown or restarted. This would also be handy for low disk space, low memory etc. Must be notified via e-mail thoughCheersLabsaLee

If SNMP is enabled for your devices, you can use the relevant MIBsto monitor your devices and receive alerts when, say, a performance countergoes over a defined threshold. You can, in fact, natively do this on a server through perfmon and then launching a script/command to send an email alert when a counter limit is reached. Some of the open-source options you may want to try out: Pandora 1.2OpenNMS 1.3.2Zenoss 1.1.1NeDi w-rc1Nagios 2.9Salvador Manaois III MCITP | Enterprise/Server Admin Bytes & Badz : http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com
