Server 08 Logoff Scripts
Hi. We are running SBS 2008 and I am attempting to set a LOGOFF script for my users. For some reason though I cannot seem to make it work for anyone other then an Administrator. It works fine on the servers Admin account, as well as my account that has elevated privs, but general users, it will not work. The logoff script is meant to put an entry into an XLS file. I set share and access permissions for Domain/Users to Read and Write and added the Logoff script in Group Policy, User Config, Windows Settings, Scripts (Logon/Logoff). As I said, it works for accounts with elevated privs, but not normal users. Anyone got any ideas?

Hello Trido, From the symptom, the logoff script works fine for administrator account on the SBS 2008 server, but not for normal users. Personally I suspect that the issue could be due to User Account Control on SBS 2008. For test purpose, please following steps to disable UAC on the problematic SBS 2008 computer, and then check if the issue can be fixed. 1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu and select Classic View. 2. Double-Click User Account 3. Under "Make Changes to Your User Account" click the link labeled "Turn User Account Control on or off" 4. Click Continue when prompted "Windows needs your permission to continue" 5. Un-select the check box next to "User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer" and then click OK. 6. When prompted top restart your computer select Restart Now If the issue still continues, it is recommend you to initial a new thread in the corresponding SBS community to get further support. The community members and support professionals there are more familiar with SBS and can help you in a more efficient way. Discussions in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs Hope the issue will be resolved soon. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
