Hello everybody,
A few updates recently failed to install. These were the "Security update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64" or, more precisely, KB2690533, KB2658846, KB2688338.

When I tried to install these updates, the server would not start anymore (just a black screen for ages after having displayed the bios) and I had to hard reset. By next boot, the updates were canceled. They are still not installed. I tried to install a
second time but same scenario: freeze and hard reset
Is there a workaround to install these updates?

Please proceed like that and check results:

Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannowDisable temporary all security software in use on this serverRun System Update Readiness tool for your OSReset Windows Update ComponentsRun msconfig and disable all startup items except Microsoft ones
Once done, reboot the server and try to install again the updates.
