Security patches that don't require restart
Hi, I am catching up on some older Win 2008 patches. Some of them do not require reboots. Is it really safe to skip rebooting? The specific patches are .NET (129k-300k in size): KB979911, 979913, 979910. One of my work associates swears not rebooting is a recipe for disaster. If we were running Windows 2000, I'd agree 100%. However, I'm not sure with 2008. Thoughts? Thanks.

if you are not prompted for a rebot after updating it's not required. However, if you are concerned then reboot during your maintenance window.

That's pretty much the way I'm going to handle it. Much appreciated
