Search not working

A funny thing is happening with my search. All searches my users perform, only returns values if the work being searched exists on my users AD accounts.  For example, I run a search on "School." I get the following message:

Nothing here matches your search Suggestions
  • Make sure all words are spelled correctly
  • Try different search terms
  • Try more general search terms
  • Try fewer search terms
  • Try these tips for searching

But then, If I change the search to search "Everything."  I get everybody with "School" somewhere in their title, description, etc.

Any ideas anyone.  BTW, I've been on the phone with Premier support about this and all the settings are fine, it's just not working.  Unless I'm missing a silly check box, or a weird setting.

Just for testing purpose can you create another search service application and check whether the same issue happens there as well?

I already have a second one in use.  I use it to search employees.  That one exhibits the same behavior.  It only works for employees.
