Hi all,
Working with SharePoint 2013 on prem and trying to show all subsites for the current site. Using 2 webparts, one with the search box and the other with the search results (connected).
I've set the search results to use the search box's text to get the following query:
contentclass:STS_Web SPSiteURL:{SiteCollection.URL} {SearchBoxQuery}*Hence, I only want subsites to show up for this site collection and in addition use the SearchBoxQuery to filter them.
Now, this works fine for most incomplete words like "inform" or "inf", resulting in only the subsites. But when I search for "info" or "informatiebeheer" - terms that match more than only the subsites, I get promoted results (bracket on the left - see picture below). I also get the subsites, but I have to get past the "PowerPoint presentation" results or "People" results. I don't want to see them.
I have configured the Search Results web part as follows:
50 results per page
Show: Ranked Results, Number of results, Paging
Do NOT show (i.e. all unchecked): Promoted Results, "Did you mean?", Personal favorites, "View duplicates", "Search navigation menu", "Advanced", "Language dropdown", "Sort dropdown", "Preferences",
"Alert me".
I don't expect any promoted result blocks, but I still get them sometimes. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
