Scheduled Task on Server 2003 run issue
Hello, I've scheduled a Task on Server 2003 to start a PowerShell script. After setup I test run and it works good. I use a specific service account. The task then is scheduled to run each day at a specific time. The first night, the task runs without issues. The second night the task does not run anymore. The task status shows "Could Not Run". Once I log on the server, right click and manually run the task, nothing happens. I have to re-input the service password and then i can run the task manually again. I even can set it to a testing time/date and log off, the task will run. BUT like before it runs only one time. I've verified other settings. what could be the problem?

Hi, Thanks for the post. Please check the Scheduled Tasks Log. As we know, Scheduled tasks maintains a log file (Schedlgu.txt), in the c:\Windows folder. You can view the log from the Scheduled Tasks window by clicking View Log on the Advanced menu. Please also make sure that the Allow service interact with desktop is checked. Thanks, MilesPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. In concern to "Allow service interact with desktop is checked", I've checked it on Task Scheduler and Event Log. Are these the two services you meant? The Error I'm having is this (per log) "powershell_ise.job" (_CallEventArchiverPS.bat) 3/6/2011 8:00:06 PM ** ERROR ** The attempt to log on to the account associated with the task failed, therefore, the task did not run. The specific error is: 0x80070569: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. Verify that the task's Run-as name and password are valid and try again. It's a service account I'm using. I can't access the gpo. the Service account is part of the domain adminstrator/ local adminstrator grp and several other. I belive that should be ok. However, you think that the "Allow service interact with desktop is checked" will resolve the issue? Thx
