Same user profiles in 2 server. Can this configuration work?
For example if I configure cluster with shared volume, place and configure profiles to the same location. Can two server share and work with same profile location? As far as I know, what you are trying to achieve is NOT possible. Except Roaming profiles, local profiles are created on individual machines on which users log on and those profile can not be placed on a separate shared storage. I don't think there is a way to place user profiles on shared storage and configure OS to allow users to log on. In case of 2008/R2, user profiles are stored on C:\Users folder and I am not sure if you can even place that folder on different drives other than C:\. For example if I configure cluster with shared volume, place and configure profiles to the same location. Can two server share and work with same profile location? thanks

Yes it is possible to redirect profiles to other location. Could you please share a reference or a link ? I would be interested to know the procedure. But I need to know if can two server share and work with same profile location? I am not sure if that works as I haven't tried :-) Perhaps, other members might have some idea !I do not represent the organisation I work for, all the opinions expressed here are my own. thank guys, but this guy was having problem with specific users on specific server. Profile redirection is posible, but can both server use same location, same profiles on same share volume storage. I guess you are right Mr X that this might be not supported, but is it technically possible? why not?
