Samba Version3.6.5 looses network connection to Windows7
Samba Server vers. 3.6.5 looses network connection to Windows7 client sporadically. Conditions: Windows7 - Enterprise, Linux with Samba 3.6.5 When I try to copy some files from Linux to Windows (or vice versa), the network connections gets sporadically lost. That also happens during files are copied. (Note: smb as well as nmb are loaded and activated on the Linux side and the user is allowed to access both Windows and Linux file systems.) Reconnection from Windows side is often denied by messages similar to "network path not found" or "network path still in use", etc. When the network reconnection is done successfully, it only is established for a few minutes or a few seconds. Hope you can help me. Thannking you in anticipation. Cheers, Martin

I will start with the disclaimer: I am not much familiar with Linux. Try adding local host entry for Samba Server on Windows 7 machine and see if that makes any difference.I do not represent the organisation I work for, all the opinions expressed here are my own.
