Safely Remove Hardware is broken
I have a system running Windows Server 2008 Standard (32-bit, for what it's worth) that has developed a problem with the Safely Remove Hardware feature. The icon for it does not appear in the tray. I've tried googling it and most suggestions seem to be either checking if the icon is hidden (it's not, "hide inactive icons" is off and "Safely Remove Hardware" is set to "show") or running "RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" to get it to come up. If I try the rundll32 hotplug.dll method the Safely Remove Hardware window comes up, but it's empty. I've been using "USB Safely Remove" (a third party app) to get around it, but it was only a trial and it's now expired. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this is driving me crazy. Thanks

Sorry, I forgot I had posted this. Ccleaner did not resolve the issue. Also, this issue occurs for all USB mass storage devices. Thank you.
