Hi,

1) What is the error you are facing?

2) Is it only the SSRS component that is having error? So the usual database is up and running fine?

Cheers,
Milton

Try this

http://www.sanssql.com/2013/11/upgrade-error-valid-database.html

ELSE Follow this

When a SQL Server 2005 database is upgraded to SQL Server 2014, the database compatibility level will be changed from 90 to 100. Change your Comptability level of Report  databases s to100 if they are still in level 90. (In SQL Server 2014, valid values for the database compatibility level are 100, 110 and 120.)

Apology that the attachment did not load for me previously when I replied. I would have said the same as per N-SQL. Have you tried his recommendation yet?

Hi PradyothanaDP,

According to your description, when you upgrade the SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2014, the error Valid database compatibility level and successful connection failed. The report server database is not valid compatibility level or a successful connection cannot be established. is thrown out during setup process, right?

In your scenario, you should open Database Setup tab in Reporting Services Configuration Manager, then check if it points to a existed and correct database. Make sure database settings in this tab are right. For more information, please refer to this similar thread: Can't connect to report server database when upgrade from SQL Server 2k8 R2 to SQL Server 2012.

Also please note the SQL Server 2005 should be patched to SP4 then perform upgrade. For more information, please refer to this article: Upgrade and Migrate Reporting Services

If issue persists, please check the setup log files around the time that the error message thrown out. Please post the detail error log for our analysis if possible.

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
