SSRS required license?

I tried to look for licensing required to run SSRS, as far as I found, the license is on the SQL server itself.

so, if I install a standard SQL server, which is paid/licensed, I can run SSRS on it without any additional cost, isn't it?

What about Express edition? totally free?

The main site for SQL server 2014 has no details section for SSRS, appreciate if anyone can provide official link about it

Hi Kelmen,

The SQL Server Reporting Services works as a part of SQL Server license. If we have a licensed copy of SQL Server, we can run Reporting Services on the same server for no additional license fee. However, if we run Reporting Services on a separate machine that is not yet licensed for SQL Server, such as a Web server, we will need to purchase an additional SQL Server license.

For more detailed information regarding to the license issue, please call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. For international customers, please use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in your locations.
