SSIS Package execution in VS2013

Hi,

I am using SQL Server 2012R2 with below details of the SSDT.

Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Shell (Integrated)
Version 12.0.21005.1 REL
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 4.5.51641

Installed Version: IDE Standard

SQL Server Integration Services
Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Designer
Version 12.0.2430.0

The catch is the ssis package is still in running state while the message at bottom says "package execution completed".

When i checked in the SQL table, the data is fully loaded.

Where is the gap and how can the issue be addressed?

Ayush

Hi Ayush,

Please show us what is in the Control Flow.

Besides, since you are using Visual Studio 2013 then you actually generate a SSIS 2014 package. Not 2012.

Hi Arthur,

The Control flow has just two components:

1. Execute SQL task - which actually truncates a SQL Table.

2. Data Flow task - as shown in my above snapshot - gets executed only when Step 1 is successful.(1->2)

The design is to truncate a table and do a full load from a teradata source. And yes, its a 2014 package.

OK, what doesn't make sense to me is how the number of records is different between tasks.

Where did you take this Teradata Source from?

If I remember right I used the OLEDB from Teradata http://downloads.teradata.com/download/connectivity/ole-db-provider

I had issues too, like it would time me out on long reads.

Long story short, use what I suggested instead.

The teradata connector can be found out here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44582

"what doesn't make sense to me is how the number of records is different between tasks." -- thats where i am also stuck. The different steps in pipeline shows different numbers. And actually all the data extracted from Teradata source were written onto the destination table. Still components are in running state with different records in pipeline.

Also, the Control Flow shows me that this Data Flow task is complete. Even the UI in snapshot shows so.

I did get the server rebooted thinking that it might solve the issue, but it did not help. Can you let me know if i need to raise a ticket with MSFT. The UI is not in sync with the actual ETL.

Ayush
