Yes Meniolf and Tiger are correct SRVANY.EXE is deprected command in windows 2008. Hi. Unfortunately SRVANY is not really supported on recent versions of Windows, although the binary from the 2003 resource kit will work fine on Windows 2008 R2 if your needs are basic. Note however that SC is NOT a replacement for SRVANY! SC will help you create/install a service, but it will not allow you to run a regular, non-service executable as a Windows Service like srvany.exe will.
