Hello,

SQL server configuration will not change but for question, migrating from VMWARE o hyper V ,this you have to ask in HYPERV forum for better answer and quick response.

The hardware design for a Hyper-V server running SQL Server is basically the same as a server running SQL Server on bare metal.  SQL Server needs lots of memory for caching data, and fast IO, and can benefit from having separate storage for database files, logs, backup, etc.

If you want HA, then you can create a Windows Failover Cluster with shared storage.  Or you can use AlwaysOn Availibility Groups between VMs in a guest cluster.

Hi Team,

When we are using SQL Server 2012 standard edition we can not make use SQL Server AG feature. Can we still use our inbuilt replication and log shipping for different purposes on primary production VM and what happens to these options when it replicate to secondary site using Hyper V replica. what is the support level from Microsoft when using these SQL Server 2012 standard edition options in primary VM using hyper V.

Thanks,

Please start a new thread for your question, instead of adding it to an old, unrelated thread.
