SQL Sync schema refresh not completing
Hi,

I am trying to set up an SQL Sync Group. The hub is an existing Azure SQL database with data in it, the other database is a SQL Server Database.

When I go to define Sync Rules and go to refresh the database schema to get started, it starts processing (with the circular animation) but never completes.

I see from other questions people having the same issue:

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Just an update what I have tried since.

I am now trying a test sync where I have an empty Azure database and an empty SQL Server database. Still the Refresh Schema won't complete, it has been running for over an hour.

The steps I have taken are as follows:

Install Microsoft SQL Data Sync Agent Preview on my machine

Register the empty SQL Server database and ping sync service successfully. The state is 'Reachable'

In the Azure Portal Add Sync Group TradeshowTest and add the empty Azure database and Sync agent as references.

Go to Configure and set automatic sync On and frequency to 20 minutes.

Go to Sync Rules and click 'Define Sync Rules', select the Azure database and click Refresh Schema.

Maybe there is a step missing or incorrect step I am taking.

The Sync Group ID is: 527478cb-4d69-41f8-8357-d8f9d8548abf_West Europe

Any help would be appreciated,

Hi,

I have now added one empty table to the Azure database which has a primary key.

And I have started the Refresh Database schema again.

Hi,

I found what I had done wrong.

The database name had a '.' in it. When I removed it the sync process completed.
