Hi

We purchased SQL server 2008 R2 and downloaded it off the MS website etc. We have ow found that after 180 days it seems we have been running the evaluation version. We have spoken to miscrosoft and explained we need to activate the product but there seems
to be no product keys. We were then informed that this producy has the licence embedded in the download so there is no product key. i have spoken to volume licensing and activation teams and technical support with no help on how to get round this problem
We have six months of data so is impossible to re-install. Help

2. IMHO you should backup your data, purchase and install genuine copy of SQL and import data to new installation.

If you purchase SQL license youll receive the notification email from Microsoft for the registration with Microsoft successfully. Next 24 houses and the you have to log in
to the MS licensing portal with live id and then you can get the license key.
