We are running SQL 2012 on a WS2008 R2 host. I'm looking for a process to upgrade the host OS from 2008R2 to 2012 R2. Is it as simple as stopping SQL and upgrading the host?
Are there any "gotcha's"?
Thank you.

Hi neilchapman,
Besides other post, it is highly recommended to have SQL Server backups and if possible an image of your server if you choose to perform an in-place upgrade.
Also please note that we must apply SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 or a later update when running SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012 R2. For more details, please review this KB article:

Thanks,
