SQLCMD Error

Hello,

I am a newbie to SQL.

I have been trying to create an LST file with the sqlcmd, however, it's been unsuccessful.  I do not receive an error message in the command prompt window, but I do when attempting to review the spool/LST file in Notepad.  It states the following:

Sqlcmd: Error: Connection failure. SQL Native Client is not installed correctly. To correct this, run SQL Server Setup.

I forwarded the LST file to another colleague and they were able to view the information.  I am using SSMS 2012 and they are using SSMS 2008.

what could possibly be going on?

thanks for your help.
